A grounding starting point for anyone unsure of what they’re feeling or where to begin.

My director made the big decision to retire and I felt overwhelmed by the weight of responsibility coming my way as the manager. I didn’t know where to start or how I was going to balance my work and home life, life had already been challenging to balance to begin with. After witnessing the amount of time and dedication it was going to take to run a large department in the interim, I felt inferior to the task at hand. Having nurse coach Yvonne during this crucial time, helped to direct my attention to the right areas. She never outright gave me the answers I was looking for, but helped to guide me towards a solution to everyday problems. The best part of working with Yvonne was, I always felt clearer in my intentions and goals for my team. It allowed time to set everything else aside to focus on revisiting goals from the previous week and set up new goals for the following week. I learned to take better care of myself. I found, I am more open, patient and helpful to everyone at work and at home when I set simple goals like taking a meal break during the day. I found that taking everything on alone was going to be impossible and learned to find support within my unit leadership and outside of my unit. I’ve also learned that setting time aside from work is important. Being in the moment, both at home or at work takes discipline but must be done. I definitely recommend Yvonne to any nurses in leadership roles who are open to working on improving any aspect of their work/profession life.

Prior to starting nurse coaching I had a hard time having a balance with work life balance. I found myself feeling guilty when I tried to spend time with my family because I felt my responsibilities at work were a priority. I was placing work first and neglecting my family time. Coaching helped me realize that taking time for “self care” and doing the things that are important to me as a person and prioritizing my family needs does not make me a “bad leader.” Coaching not only helped me be a happier person but helped me become a better leader at work. I found myself not feeling guilty for not answering non-emergent work calls after hours, setting boundaries with staff to respect my family time. I felt like I had control of my decisions. I enjoyed working with my coach Yvonne because she listened without giving me an answer, she asked questions to help me produce my own answers and solutions to my struggles. She helped me paint the picture of worst-case scenarios and how these worse case scenarios were not the end of the world. Yvonne helped me feel comfortable with recognizing my feelings, even though I am a very guarded person. I have learned to put my phone done and spend time with my family. I have learned that prioritizing my family makes me a happier person and this balances my life. I feel less stressed and most importantly not guilty of having a life balance that is not solely consumed by work. I have learned that meditation works! I was so negative about taking the time to take deep breaths and telling my thoughts to go away when I was not present in the moment. I was reluctant to trying this, but I learned that the mind is such a powerful thing, and we are in control of our thoughts, good or bad. Yes, I will start implementing the things that I learned with my staff and family

First and foremost, I’m thankful that I signed up for this 5 coaching sessions which was just what I need at the perfect time. Before signing up, I was just starting on my 3 months lifestyle change with my doctor to lower my A1C and cholesterol level.
These 5 sessions were very helpful and I insightful as Yvonne assisted and prompted me to access and evaluate what I should do and be accountable for this lifestyle change.
Yvonne was very supportive and helped me navigate things I overlooked through learning how to read food labels and what is hidden information in many of these store bought items. Initially, I thought these sessions are going to be too long but it turned out to be fun and very rewarding because through our conversations I found out that there’s so much more to learn and
discover. Most importantly, through all these sessions I felt that I’m not doing this alone and I’m keeping myself in check and accountable. Definitely, will recommend this to everyone I know. It’s a great resource to help anyone to reach your goal for better health and total wellbeing.
Once again, thank you Yvonne.

I was unemployed for five months when I began my coaching sessions with Yvonne. I lacked a clear plan for my future. It was difficult to decide what opportunities to pursue because I had lost my self-confidence and footing. I was ambivalent and hurt. Yvonne helped me to inventory my leadership experiences and skills, and reflect on the contributions I had made in my career . She provided important insights that helped me to heal and be open to new possibilities. Because of her positivity and encouragement, I was able to mobilize myself to pursue a nurse leadership position that was more suited to me, and to overcome the psychological obstacles that were hindering my motivation. Yvonne’s personalized, kind and empathetic manner made it easy to share my feelings; she provided professional guidance and inspiration that I truly needed and appreciate.

My experience with Nurse Coach Yvonne Lyn-Siagian has been an amazing experience. Her approach to every session was so heartwarming and filled with positive feedback. With the information that was given back to me can has truly changed my vision and outlook in life. Through my journey with was not only informative but it helped with my overall life journey to improve on my wellbeing . In a short period time, I have learned so much about growth in life and how to manage my life balance. This experience has helped me grow as a person not just at work but in my daily life. In closing, I am thankful for this experience with Yvonne. My life has changed for better and I am thankful for coaching guidance. I can see myself continue to utilize her expertise to continue to grow in a healthy work life balance.

Before my coaching sessions I thought I had a lot going on in my life. Working two jobs while balancing a third aka family. The sessions asked difficult questions that I didn’t really want to be asked, but ultimately helped me prioritize. Working with you was amazing because even though at time’s uncomfortable, I for once let down some of my walls and instead of feeling judged feel supported. You asked me once “what’s the worst that would happen if I didn’t do ABC” and I now frequently ask myself that. If I go to Yosemite and run a half marathon, but miss 1 kids event what’s the worst that will happen? It has helped me to prioritize myself which is something I’ve never done! I was so skeptical at first of whole coaching, but glistening actually changed my perspective mostly of myself. Id recommend it to everyone, but especially those struggling with work life balance. Thank you for helping me!

You are SO GENUINE and caring. You were firm but always so damn fair. I still try and mimic your style and I put that on my kids. You have made MAJOR impacts. Keep going!! We all need you!

When first starting nurse coaching with Yvonne, I was really struggling with sleep and
prioritizing my own needs. Working with Yvonne gave me the simplification I needed to find ways to prioritize my sleep and self care so I would have the ability to take care of others. I highly recommend Yvonne anyone who wants help clarifying and reaching their goals!

Yvonne, it was a privilege to work with you and to learn your person style of mindfulness! You have an incredible ability to use your intuition to guide you. Your heart is so big and your passion and drive to help others is so inspiring. I’m so grateful I got to work with you! Thank you for your presence and authenticity. You’re an amazing supporter of nurses, and everyone you work with is so lucky to learn and grow with you.
